Peer observation of teaching

A policy for self and peer observation of teaching was introduced in September 2004. The aims of the policy are;

  • To enhance the quality of the learning opportunites of students at Nottingham Trent University;
  • To encourage staff to reflect on their practice;
  • To foster discussion and dissemination of best practice;
  • To help inform staff development planning.

Responsibility for implementing policy lies at School level, and the Learning and Teaching coordinators have been active in supporting staff to develop good practice.

For more information, please see Section 9 of the Academic Standards and Quality Handbook, contact your Learning and Teaching Coordinator, or get in touch with Graham Thomas in CADQ.
