Section 18: Attendance Policy
- The majority of academic courses provided by the University include activities which depend on student participation and collaboration.
- It is expected that all students will attend all scheduled activities unless there is a valid reason for them not to.
- Students must be aware that attendance promotes their learning.
- Students must familiarise themselves with, and comply with, the particular attendance requirements of their course, and, where
relevant, with those of placement providers.
- Academic staff have an obligation to give students notification of timetabling and timetabling changes.
- Attendance and absence should be regularly monitored.
- Monitoring of attendance policy should be part of routine course management. Any action points should be reported in the course
and school annual reports.
- Full details can be found in Section 18 of the ASQ Handbook.
