Understanding behaviour at work: From workaholism to healthy engagement to absenteeism and turnover
Supervisors: Dr Maria Karanika-Murray (Social Sciences) and Professor Mark Griffiths (Social Sciences)

The project aims to provide needed understanding of behaviour at work by conceptualizing an array of work behaviours on a continuum from behavioural engagement to behavioural withdrawal, and examining underlying primary determinants of one’s position on this continuum. Ultimately, this project can offer a unified approach to understanding behaviour at work. Student tasks will include contribution to the literature review, development of the project materials, data collection including helping to inform potential participants on how to complete research diaries, data analysis, contribution to the write-up and dissemination of the project findings and taking part in project meetings with the participant organisation/s.
