SPUR Project
2008 Winner (4 of 15)
A Desk-top Analysis and Evaluation of Sustainability in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Curriculum at Nottingham Trent
University Supervisors: Professor John Moohan (Architecture, Design and the Built Environment), Chris Nolan (Environmental Officer),
Ged O’Donoghue (Director of Estates and Resources)
The student undertook an audit of sustainability in the undergraduate and postgraduate taught curriculum. The audit was the
first stage of a larger project which also included an institution wide sample survey to establish operational delivery of
the University’s policy commitments to environmental and sustainable curriculum at grass roots level and the formulation and
testing of options to deal with the gaps – options were analysed and evaluated. The final stage consisted of a set of recommendations
to the University to assist in delivering its policy commitments. The student was actively engaged in the whole of the research
process.
