Validated centres

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can you confirm Nottingham Trent University has an agreement with…?
A.  Nottingham Trent University has a number of approved validated centres, which are listed on this site. Please see the details of the programmes validated under the Institutional Agreement with NTU.

Q. What is a validated centre?
A.  Previously known as delegated centre collaborative provision, validated centre status applies to institutions which are approved to offer specified awards and have developed quality assurance and supporting institutional systems to assure the standard of the award on an annual basis. A programme may be entirely designed, delivered and managed by a validated centre although the University will retain ultimate authority for the award.

Q. Is a student enrolled with a validated centre a full NTU student?
A.  No, if you are enrolled at a validated centre on a NTU validated programme, you are a student of that particular centre. You will be registered at NTU to receive our award. The validated programme is owned by the validated centre and approved by the University. The degree certificate will always be produced by NTU.

Q. Can I undertake part of my studies at Nottingham Trent University?
A.  The nature of the agreement with the validated centre does not extend to transferring to NTU to continue your studies. If you wish to study here you will have to apply through the usual procedures.

Q. Please can you send me details of a particular course?
A.  For specific course details please contact the validated centre directly.

Q. Would the award be equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree and make the student eligible to take up postgraduate study?
A.  Yes, the award is a British degree and recognised as such. The BA (Hons) degree is an accepted qualification for entry onto postgraduate study.

Q. Is the degree recognised by the British Government?
A.  Yes, the award is a British degree and recognised as such by the British Government.

Q. Will my certificate be the same as one an NTU student receives?
A.  Students successfully completing and passing a programme of study at one of the University’s validated centres will receive an award that has exactly the same value as an award received by an NTU student. The validated centre will have an example of the certificate if you wish to see it.

The certificate is the same with a couple of additions:

  • The name of the validated centre must show on the certificate.
  • The centre logo may be present and the name and signature of the Head of the Validated Centre (both optional extras).
  • The language of instruction, if other than English, will also be printed on the certificate.
