Background
PAF has been set up by the Little People Education Society which is promoted by House of Pearl, one of India's largest export
houses. Pearl Academy of Fashion was founded in 1993 to provide professionally trained manpower for the fashion and related
industries in India. Today, PAF enjoys high status as India's most prestigious private-sector provider of education and training
for the fashion, design and textile sectors.
PAF was first approved as a Validated Centre of the University in May 1995 and has been gradually extending the range of their
provision. In 2005 the campus in Jaipur was approved as an additional Delivery Centre of PAF for NTU validated programmes.
Two additional delivery centres of PAF were approved in December 2006: Pearl Fashion Institute in Chennai and Pearl Fashion
Institute in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Two new Foundation Degrees were also approved in December 2006 for delivery at PFI Dhaka only.
In 2008 PAF was subject to a successful Institutional Review and Prog Progress Review and granted a further 6 years approval.
In 2009 the BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design programme was successfully validated, for a 5 year period. The next
review is scheduled for 2014.
