Background

NTU has had a validation service arrangement with Raffles Education Group (REG) since 1998. This was initially in collaboration with Financial Times Management for the delivery of an MBA and BABA. Since 2000 it has been through a direct relationship.

In the light of its expanding provision, World Education Council (WEC) was established by REG specifically to coordinate, manage and deliver programmes under the NTU validation service agreement.

The above validated programmes are currently offered through Olympia Colleges – Knowledge Universe Centres in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Johor Baru, Penang, Ipoh, Kuantan, Raffles Academy in Singapore and Raffles Education Group in Hyderabad in India (MBA only).

In 2006, NTU approved a further 3 WEC Learning Centres; in Klang (for delivery of the BA (Hons) Business Management Top Up, Quality Cluster, and MBA Blended Learning; in Medan, Indonesia (for delivery of the BABM Top Up) and in Seoul, South Korea for the MBA Blended Learning.

NTU and WEC have reached an amicable agreement that student registrations onto the NTU validated programmes will cease from November 2009 and that there will be a gradual phasing out of the NTU relationship.

Students registering after November 2009 will not be eligible for an NTU award.
