Staff ideas, involvement and volunteering
Staff ideas Do you have any ideas or suggestions that can help us enhance Welcome Week? Or any suggestions on how to continue to integrate
Welcome Week with programme induction? Or any good practice in programme induction that you would like to share. All ideas
are welcome - please contact Ed Foster.
Staff volunteers There are various ways that staff can get involved in Welcome Week. The evening activities and cultural events that form part
of Welcome Week are many and varied; including sport, theatre, concerts and bowling - this list goes on. We do evening trips/activities
during the week and day trips on the final Sunday. Key to these activities is the contribution of staff volunteers. Most activities
require a minimum of two trip leaders and these are usually staff volunteers, without the assistance of volunteers it would
be difficult to provide the number and range of activities that are on offer. This is also a chance for staff to try something
new, with students, to introduce students to an activity or event they may have already experienced. An eNews item will be
sent out in late August - early September inviting staff to get involved. Any members of staff wishing to pre-register their
interest please contact Paul Molineaux.
You can get involved by suggesting new activities/events for us to try during Welcome Week or assisting in putting together
an event. For example, we always need questions for the Nottingham Trent University version of University Challenge.
