Core workshops

To achieve the Award you must take part in eight skills sessions. Four of these sessions are mandatory and the other four can be chosen from a selection on the skills sessions page.

The following four core skills workshops are mandatory. They will help you apply for jobs and secure employment after graduating. 

Please note that the following sessions are two hours long unless stated.

Getting started in managing your career
This session provides an understanding of issues surrounding graduate employment and occupations, whilst demonstrating a range of tools and techniques that will support the decision making process.

Application forms
This session will teach you how to complete application forms effectively to maximise your chances of progressing and getting hired.

CV planning and covering letters
Here you will produce your own CV and learn how to construct and adapt CVs and letters to suit particular roles.

Interview techniques and skills
This session gives you an understanding of how interview processes are conducted, and shows how to make an effective impression to maximise your employment prospects.
