To provide students with someone who will support them in improving their employability prospects, develop their graduate attributes and gain sector insight through the sharing of mentor's knowledge and experience.
Objectives
- Provide students with the opportunity to begin understanding and developing their graduate attributes
- Build mutually beneficial and interactive relationships between alumni and students
- Enhance the student educational experience
- Promote professional development and real world experience for undergraduates
- Give alumni an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to both students and the University.
Results
Successful mentoring is born out of a strong commitment to the relationship from both parties. The space created between mentor and mentee must be comfortable to allow for free flowing exchange of communication.
Being open minded and respectful towards each others opinions and expectations will see the relationship flourish, resulting in a beneficial outcome for both parties.
