Aims and objectives
Aims
To provide students with someone who will support them in improving their employability prospects through the development of their graduate attributes and the sharing of the mentor's knowledge and experience of the sector the student is aiming for.
Objectives
- Provide students the opportunity to begin understanding and developing their graduate attributes.
- Build mutually beneficial and interactive relationships between Alumni and students.
- Enhance the student educational experience.
- Promote professional development and real world experience for undergraduate students.
- Give Alumni an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to both students and the University.
Results
Successful mentoring is born out of a strong commitment to the relationship from both parties to the relationship. The space created between mentor and mentee must be comfortable enough to allow free flowing exchange of communication. Being open-minded, challenging sensitively, being respectful towards one another and mindful of the expectations you have set for the relationship will see a relationship flourish which is reciprocal and beneficial for mentor and mentee.
