Work placements are integral to many courses at NTU, often lasting one academic year, often salaried.

Placements are a golden opportunity to gain experience and develop your understanding of industry practice. Placements can offer a wealth of benefits including:

learning the skills that employers look for - confident teamwork, communication and problem-solving
securing a graduate job; employers often use the placement as an extended trial for a graduate position
testing out career options
for some courses the placement year can contribute towards professional qualifications
graduating with experience and references puts you in a very strong position in the job market.

The 'NTU Professional Placement Scheme'

This year, NTU is recruiting a number of placement students in the following areas:

Marketing and Web Services
Information Systems
Finance
Legal Services
Construction Management
Conference Centre and Catering
Landscape Services

The surroundings may be familiar to you, but joining NTU on the Professional Placement scheme, you will experience the real business world, developing quickly the specific skills required in your sector and the transferrable skills demanded by the workplace. As an employee you will work on live departmental projects and be given responsibility in a large business environment.

The scheme includes master classes and many other opportunities to engage and develop your employability skills.

Applying for the NTU scheme: All placements are for 12 months and will start during September 2013.
