‘Fuelling the Future’ National Tour
As part of Chemistry Week 2007 the Royal Society of Chemistry is touring the country with ‘Fuelling the Future’. The tour
consists of a combination of exhibits, presentations and touring alternatively fuelled vehicles including a hydrogen fuelled
Formula Student racing car and a bio-ethanol fuelled Lotus Elise.
The tour has been organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry to highlight the advancements being made in alternative fuels
and technologies through chemistry in the transport sector. Particular focus is being given to the role chemistry can play
in reducing carbon emissions from transport.
CELS, the Centre for Effective Learning in Science at Nottingham Trent University will host the fourth stop of the tour and
as well as the exhibits and vehicles which will be on display there will also be a presentation given by Neil Mattingley of
Green Fuels Ltd, covering the subject of on board electrolysis systems to improve combustion and related hydrogen fuel topics.
The event will be introduced by Michael Carr, Executive Director of Business Services at emda (East Midlands Development Agency).
