Working with future teachers

CELS is working with the School of Education to provide additional opportunities for student teachers to develop their skills. For those following a Secondary Science PGCE or Enhanced PGCE in Science, these sessions include advancing ICT skills, using data-logging equipment and interactive whiteboards.

Student teachers have also attended interactive lectures on exciting and interesting experiments; these are based on the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) report "Surely That's Banned!?!". The report can be accessed via the RSC website.

CELS has previously worked with the Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education (RSSCSE) to help run workshops for students on Enhanced PGCE routes into Mathematics.
