Development of an eLearning postgraduate module for Research Methods and IT
Academic secondee: Alan Hargreaves
The School of Science and Technology runs a successful suite of postgraduate programmes in the biosciences, including biomedical
science, molecular cell biology and pharmacology.
Since the mid 1990s, there has been a steady increase in student numbers, which is partly due to rising recruitment of international
students over the past decade. In order to increase access to these courses, the School have embarked on the development of
a flexible learning programme leading to the MSc in Applied Biomedical Sciences.
This CELS sabbatical project was dedicated to developing an eLearning version of the Research Methods and IT module, currently
taken by the majority of full-time Masters, MRes and MPhil/PhD students in the School of Science and Technology.
Further information about this project can be found by downloading the project poster.
