Creating an accessible learning environment in the School of Science and Technology

As well as it being a legal requirement, making teaching materials accessible commonly has the result of improving them for all users. This project aimed to encourage a culture whereby developing accessible resources is a crucial part of the teaching and learning process. The following stages were involved in this project:

• Identification of the major accessibility issues within the School and finding appropriate methods for tackling these
• Explanation of the accessibility needs among the student community
• Publicising these issues to the academic team and explaining the methods used to address them.
