The Body
The activity
Talk with slide show This interactive presentation will introduce pupils to the structure of the human body. We will look at the skeleton and work
our way outwards building the body including the muscles and major organs.
Hands-on experiments Throughout the talk, the pupils will take part in practical activities to support the ideas discussed. They will:
- Build Sid the skeleton
- Make a model muscle and joint
- Look at the positioning of the major organs and their functions
- Experiment with filtering – like the kidneys
- Use a series of worksheets, supported by the slide show will help to guide them through the activities
Learning outcomes Following this activity, pupils will have:
- Carefully followed a set of instructions
- Understood the basic structure of the body
- Knowledge of the main functions of the major organs
- Made predictions
- Carried out an experiment
- Met real life scientists!
