Pills, jabs and patches

This hands-on activity allows pupils to explore the different methods of drug delivery and increase their awareness of drug development and industry.

This Kit is designed inline with the national curriculum guidelines for Key Stage 3 and is linked carefully to practical sessions.

Talk with slide show

The interactive presentation is used to demonstrate methods of drug delivery and to guide pupils through the practical exercises.

Hands-on

All of the hands-on sessions are supported by CELS staff and representatives. Information for practical sessions is also provided during the presentation.

Learning outcomes

Following this activity the pupils will:

  • Have an understand of drug delivery methods
  • Relate drug delivery methods to different illnesses and discuss why they are used
  • Have met real-life scientists

Important information

Age range: This kit is designed for Key Stage 3 pupils

Time of activity: Teachers should allow at least one hour for this session to take place

Safety: Risk assessments will be provided where appropriate
