Models to Microbes science day Pupils had the chance to do chemistry with cabbage, build microbes and make slime during this hands on workshop. This was
an opportunity for pupils to carry out their own experiments and be amazed by the results.

Microbiology - CSI How do microbiologists work to discover the bacteria causing a deadly disease outbreak? In this session students learned how quickly and easily bacteria can spread and had a go at isolating, examining and identifying
bacteria. They also saw how scientists catch the bacteria responsible for an outbreak by using DNA fingerprinting.

Microbiology master class Post 16 students had the chance to come into NTU's science department and take part in a hands on session of microbiology
led by one of our academics. Topics covered in the session supported the student's studies whilst introducing them to a university.

Astronomical Playground Have you ever wondered why the moon changes its face? Did you know that the moon can steal the sun? Do you want to be a part
of the milky way or see how a rocket works? This ‘hands on’ workshop answered many questions and included a visit to our new observatory.

Mini beasts master class This fascinating investigation delved into the miniature world of invertebrates. Students explored the different species of invertebrates in two contrasting habitats. They were then be able to use electronic
and mechanical measuring instruments to take environmental readings.

Making computer games This session was be a chance for students to find out how computer games are made and to try out some of the games made by
our Interactive Systems research group. There was also the chance to experience some state of the art 3D technology and see
our facilities for games development.
