What is the NTU Y12 Summer Residential?

Are you thinking about applying to university next year? Want to know more? Then the NTU Summer Residential is your ideal opportunity to experience what university might be like. Over three days and two nights you will…

  • try out academic taster sessions in loads of subject areas
  • stay in our university accommodation and get a real feel for living in student halls
  • meet new people make new friends
  • meet current university students and find out about student life
  • enhance your application for higher education
  • get lots of advice from staff and current students about making your university choice and applying.

And the great news is – the NTU Summer Residential is FREE! We will pay for all your food, activities and accommodation.

What will I get out of it?

100% of students who attended last year's event would recommend it to a friend, and now feel more confident about entering higher education.

This is a great chance to get a taste of university, try out some different subjects and meet new people in order to prepare you for student life. Not only will you feel more confident about applying to university, but attending this event will also look great on your UCAS application form! This event is for pupils who are thinking about higher education at any university – all information and advice provided will help you make the right choice for you.

How do I apply?

If you would like to attend then please download the application form PDF icon and return by email or by post to 52 Terrace Royal, Clarendon Street, Nottingham, NG1 5JD.

Places are limited, so you need to act quickly. Application forms must be returned to us by Friday 7 June 2013. We will then contact you if your application has been successful.
Please be aware that this is a targeted event and those that meet our targeting criteria will be offered priority places. This includes students who:

  • attend a school with high numbers of pupils from deprived areas
  • live in an area where progression rates to higher education are low
  • live in an area of high unemployment
  • are currently in receipt of a post-16 bursary
  • are in receipt of free school meals
  • are currently looked-after / in care or have recently left care
  • have a disability
  • face barriers to their educational progression.
