Family Fun Evening
Details:
Family fun is an opportunity for year 6 pupils, along with their families / carers, to visit the University for a free meal and an evening of fun and informative activities.
Parents and carers will get the opportunity to find out more about higher education and how to support their child’s progression, and young people will get a first-hand experience of what university has to offer.
Pupils and the families / carers can:
- enjoy a hot meal
- have a look around one of our university buildings
- take part in an aspiration raising craft workshop
In addition:
- Pupils will take part in an interactive workshop with university students.
- Parents will receive information about the progression to higher education.
We hope that you can join us for what we are sure will be an enjoyable and informative evening.
Places can be booked using our online booking form. Please select the date you wish to attend from the 'Event' drop down menu and Parent or Guardian from the drop down 'Your Role' menu.
If you have received a flyer from your child’s school then please book onto that date for transportation reasons.

Priority will be given to schools and colleges in the East Midlands. We focus our resources and efforts on the following target groups:
- those who were previously identified as being in the Aimhigher cohort
- those who come from a disadvantaged background
- those who are in receipt of free school meals
- those who are from a care background
- those who have a disability
- those who are currently disengaged or, in your professional opinion, require additional intervention to increase motivation and attainment.
