Activities delivered in school
Please note that classroom-based activities run for 45 minutes to 1 hour per session and are designed for a maximum of 30 pupils.
Year 5 Sowing the Seed
An introduction to higher education in which pupils explore what university is. By completing interactive table top puzzles and worksheets pupils compare the differences and similarities between university and school and we begin to explore the pathways to HE. The session is supported by NTU Student Ambassadors.
Year 6 Exploring Student Life
During three interactive activities and an engaging presentation we ask pupils to look at their own goals for the future. Pupils will also find out more about student life from talking to Student Ambassadors.
Year 6 International Workshop
This interactive workshop introduces pupils to speakers of other languages. Through a range of interactive activities we demonstrate the importance of languages, including opportunities to study / work / live abroad and improved job prospects for those with a foreign language.
Events delivered at NTU
Year 6 campus visit
A half-day visit to Clifton campus in the summer term for up to 45 Year 6 pupils incorporating a campus tour, puppet-making, dream job collage-making, quizzes and a mini graduation. Please note that visits are only for Year 6 pupils.
Family Fun events
An evening visit to the University in May / June 2013 for families to look around, enjoy dinner with staff and students and take part in a carousel of interactive activities designed to show families more about higher education.
High 5 summer school
A two-day (non-residential) event for selected Year 5 pupils to come and visit the University during the first week of the summer holidays to get a fun and interactive insight into university life.
