To assist your learning these pages have been designed to offer you suggestions for activities to develop competencies that are required for your job, or for your own personal progression.
The Competency Framework
There are nine behavioural competencies, split into three overarching groups:
- working with others
- delivering results
- focusing on the future.
Each of the overarching areas contains three competencies, each split into four levels of achievement.

To find out the suggested developmental activities for each of the competencies click on the appropriate level above – you will find the competency requirements for your role on the person specification for your role or on your PDCR form. Note that if you are looking for development ideas at level four you might also find some useful ideas in levels one to three.

You can visit iTunes U for a range of educational resources, for example the Business section has a range of podcasts and videos from Cranfield and Oxford Universities that are useful for managers.
JISC info net comprises a range of analytical tools and templates. From pilot work and output from workshop streams, it has been found that these tools can often be used interchangeably to deal with a variety of scenarios.
