Qualifications
In this section you will find information regarding available qualification routes offered through CPLD.
Vocational qualifications
The Centre for Professional Learning and Development (CPLD) offers a range of OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations) and City and Guilds qualifications. They are delivered through one to one interventions with a qualified assessor.
Your assessor will identify opportunities for learning and facilitate the collection of evidence for assessment to help you demonstrate occupational competence and achieve the qualification.
You can find further information on the vocational tab.
Academic qualifications
Learning and Teaching
The NTU Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (NTU PGCHE) provides a structured, validated professional development course for experienced and new staff who seek to gain a postgraduate teaching qualification (worth 60 ‘M’ level credits / Level 7). This can be completed as a pre-cursor to applying for HEA Fellow professional recognition and is open to staff from other organisations as well as NTU. A number of NTU-funded places available each year - for details of the application process and criteria please contact the School of Education.
Please note that completion of the PGCHE no longer leads to automatic award of the HEA Fellowship as it did between academic years 2007/8 to September 2012. Further information can be found on our applying for HEA professional recognition fellowships section.
Information about an MA in Education can be found on the School of Education website.
