Vice Chancellor's Mandarin Scholarships
Open to current students - Summer 2012
The Vice Chancellor Professor Neil Gorman is delighted to announce that once again scholarships are being offered to NTU students wishing to study summer language courses in Mandarin at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) in China.
BLCU is one of China's most prestigious universities, located in the heart of Beijing and specialises in teaching Mandarin to foreign students and attracts students from all over the world. You can find out more about the university from the BLCU website.
Up to 10 scholarships are available which will cover return flights, tuition fees and accommodation. These are open to registered NTU students with a demonstrable interest in China or the Chinese language. Students do not necessarily have to speak Chinese as BLCU runs courses from beginners level. However, students who are currently learning Chinese are particularly welcome to apply, and those selected will be invited to participate in a short preparatory workshop series at NTU prior to departure.
The language programmes will take place during July and August (after graduation), so successful candidates need to be available during this period to travel to China.
The closing date for submission of your essay is 11.59am Sunday 1 April 2012.
