East African Playgrounds (EAP) aims to change the lives of children across East Africa by developing schools environments, sports and play facilities.

By working alongside local communities, tradesmen and sports coaches, they:

  • refurbish schools
  • provide sports training and equipment to both students and teachers
  • create play spaces.

EAP believe that the key to successful, long lasting and sustainable projects is community involvement. To give each project the best chance for creating a positive long lasting impact they work alongside the local community from the start and continue the relationship throughout. Each community is expected to contribute funds to each refurbishment project and donate their time and labour to each playground build and sports, arts and reading program. EAP have found that by working to this model their programs have maximum impact.

Volunteers can get involved by working alongside locals in building playgrounds, as well as other sporting and arts based activities. Find out more about East African Playgrounds (EAP).
