Community Projects
We work with around one hundred not for profit organisations across Nottingham coordinating opportunities for students who want to volunteer on a regular basis in a local organisation.
There's an opportunity for you no matter what your interest, giving you a chance to:
- develop your skills
- meet new people
- gain some course or career related experience.
The majority of projects will require a regular commitment across the academic year, for example, two to four hours per week or fortnight. Although you may be volunteering for at least six months, you should find it relatively easy to fit volunteering around your course requirements, any paid work and/or social commitments you have.
Each year we produce an opportunity booklet where you are able to find out about the community projects
you could get involved in.
For more information about the organisations we work with and how we can support you throughout the volunteering process contact a Volunteering Officer.
We will also be holding regular registration sessions during the first term for you to come along to and find out more about particular organisations that you may be interested in volunteering with, and hear more about the support and opportunities that the volunteering team can offer you.
Drop in Sessions and Appointments
Our Volunteering Officers run drop in sessions and appointments at each campus every week. The drop in sessions and appointments give you a chance to ask any questions you have about volunteering, register with us and receive contact details of the project(s) you are interested in. The drop in sessions and appointments currently run on:
- City site - You can book appointments anytime during the week to see a member of the volunteering team.
- Clifton campus - Drop in session at the Careers and Development Centre - Fridays 2 pm - 4 pm.
- Brackenhurst - Drop in session at the Careers area in the Bramley building - Fridays 10 am - 12 pm.
