The Green Impact scheme is asking for student help; throughout the year staff within your schools and departments take on the Green Impact workbooks to ensure that they are working as greenly as possible. What we need is your help auditing their work.
You will receive a morning of training and an afternoon to carry out the audit, your work is recognised not only by NTU but also the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA)- something great to add to your CV. The environment team are now recruiting student eco-reps to support the University's cutting edge sustainability projects.
We have set ourselves a challenging target to reduce our carbon footprint by 48% by 2020. To meet this target we are implementing various carbon reduction projects involving staff and students across the University.
We run a bike hire scheme for all staff and students where you can hire a bike from just £35 a year. Or you can buy one and get money off through Cyclescheme.
Here at Nottingham Trent University, our commitment to environmental sustainability is a key part of our strategy. Current and future threats to our environment are a major concern of our students and our staff. We seek to develop positive solutions for these environmental challenges through our curricula, our research, the way we work and how we manage our resources.
