Leagues and Awards

NTU has been classed as one of the Greenest Universities in the UK for the past six years and has also been highlighted as the third greenest University in the world in 2014.

University League 2015

People & Planet is the largest student network in Britain campaigning to end world poverty, defend human rights and protect the environment.

Every year they run a University League (previously known as the Green League) of 145 UK universities where institutions are awarded degree-style classifications based on their environmental management and performance. 

In 2015 they ranked NTU in the top five of all universities, with a 'First class' award for our commitment to the environment and sustainability.  This is the sixth year running that NTU has been placed in the top ten.

UI Green Metric

The UI Green Metric World University Ranking is an initiative of Universitas Indonesia.  Universities from around the world are invited to take part, with 360 institutions ranked in the 2014 survey.  

Universities are scored against their infrastructure and performance relating to energy and climate change, waste, water, transport and education.

Green Gown Awards

NTU Have also won a number of highly prestigious Green Gown Awards, presented by the Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges (EAUC). In 2013 the Future Factory won the Learning and Skills award, helping small businesses become more sustainable.  

NTU have also received Highly Commended awards for projects including Sustainablity Champion for our Executive Chef Ivan Hopkins in 2013 and for our courses, Green ICT and Social Responsibility in 2012.
