EcoCampus
After gaining EcoCampus Platinum November 2011, NTU are now celebrating the double success of re-accreditation of EcoCampus Platinum in 2012 while also passing the industry environmental management standard ISO 14001. This is the international environmental management system (EMS) standard and is used by businesses around the world to grade their environmental performance. NTU is one of the first universities to achieve both awards for the whole estate.
We are also ranked in the top five of the most environmentally friendly universities in the UK, according to the People and Planet Green League.

Bees
Our Newton building has a new addition - a colony of honey bees. The hive, located on the green roof of the Newton building, was installed in June 2012 and is home to around 20,000 bees. Watch them live on camera.
