Research
The School of Education has strong research groups which offer research supervision for MPhil and PhD programmes. Research is seen as an important activity to ensure the vitality and health of academic subjects. It underpins and enriches the teaching that takes place on our undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses.

Research degrees
Professional Doctorate
This professional doctorate (in one of three fields of professional activity – education, law, and social sciences) is a three year part-time modular programme. The programme of study can best be viewed as a single research project that is developed in stages.
The School is supported by a dedicated Research and Graduate School, ensuring researchers are fully supported as they begin a career in research, academia, or in other graduate-level professions.
