For school-leavers or mature students we offer the following undergraduate courses:
BA (Hons) Childhood StudiesThis degree is ideal for students who have a strong interest in supporting and working alongside children and their families and would like to develop a broad knowledge base focusing on child development and children in society.
Education Joint Honours programme
With a range of subject areas and combinations to choose from this programme of courses is ideal for students who want to work with people but would like the flexibility to be able to choose from a variety of employment fields.
The courses involve the study of the core Professional Studies (education) module plus the option to select two complementary subject areas to degree level. The subject combinations available include:Â

Work experience is central to our courses and students undertake a range of placements working within industrial, public and commercial settings.
For those already employed in educational support roles who want to combine employment with further learning, we offer a range of undergraduate courses to enhance your career.
FdA Educational Support
If you are currently working in an educational support role in a school, college or training environment e.g. Teaching Assistant and wish to extend your academic learning and gain a related qualification we currently offer the two year, part-time foundation degree in Educational Support.
BA (Hons) Education
This one year part-time course is designed for people who want to gain graduate status and extend their knowledge of issues impacting on education. Aimed at professionals with a background in education and training that have already completed a Cert Ed, FdA or PCES programme.
