We are pleased to invite primary and secondary NQTs to our What’s new? NQT event.
This is a free event for all NTU NQTs
We hope you are able to join us for an essential event that will:
- Give you access to up-to-date training in new initiatives and developments in education.
- Ensure you are equipped for observations that Ofsted will now undertake of NQTs during future inspections of ITE providers.
- Raise questions about education, now and in the future, and receive expert answers.
- Allow you to catch up with friends and colleagues from your teacher training and to keep in touch with NTU.
| 5 pm - 5.30 pm | Arrival and refreshments This is the chance to catch-up with friends and colleagues from your teacher training: see who’s already running their school, who’s aged ten years in one term and who’s decided that they can do a better job than Mr Gove! Come with your stories about your first term in school and with a few of your best resources to swap. |

| 5.30 pm - 6.30 pm | Subject / curriculum session with your Tutor This is our chance to share with you what’s new in education at the moment: from the big new initiatives to small tips that really work, we want to make sure that you continue to feel confident that you are at the cutting-edge of developments in education. |
| 6.30 pm - 7 pm | What next? You tell us! We want to let you know about ongoing opportunities at NTU and how you can make the most of having trained here when you go for your next job or promotion. We also want to know from you how you would like us to continue to support you in the future. |
| 7 pm - 7.45 pm | NQT Question Time Just like on the TV! Have you got a burning question about the current direction that education is taking? Ask our panel of education experts and watch the sparks fly. Questions to be submitted by Monday 28 January. |
| 7.45 pm onwards | Network, network, network There'll be time at the end of the evening with a 'proper' drink to unwind and chat some more – this could be when you swap new email addresses / numbers, set up a new Facebook group, organise a night out or future reunion, or plan world-domination – after all it’s not all work you know. |
