Consultancy and services
The ESDN offers advice, consultancy or commissioned research to community groups and organisations in need of sports development and physical activity guidance and help. We can work with companies as consultants using our expertise to solve challenges they may be facing. It is also a point of contact for identifying potential academics and policy research specialists for those interested in commissioning research. As a collective, the ESDN can put together research project teams to fit with the demands of a research brief that cut across academic, public and private sector organisations.
Consultancy is an important part of transferring knowledge from an academic environment to industry and commerce. Likewise, the ESDN is interested to develop a stronger practitioner input and build closer links with policy communities.
In addition, it benefits the ESDN by enabling us to use our knowledge and expertise on ‘real-life’ problems. As a member-funded organisation we will take on commissioned work via local authorities, National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) or Government.
