Learning and Training
The ESDN also aims to build understanding and develop knowledge and expertise in the teaching and learning around sports development and physical activity. This can be the transfer of knowledge between practitioner organisations, development and advice on postgraduate level training and sharing good practice in undergraduate pedagogy.
In the past the ESDN has run event sharing good practice in postgraduate projects measuring Olympic legacy in partnership with the Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS), innovations in the pedagogy of sports development and encouraged the delivery of postgraduate PhD research presentations at the annual symposium.
It encourages Erasmus-led teaching and scholarly exchange and has built links with partner Universities including Groningen and Utrecht in Holland.
The ESDN can also help identify suitable external examiner positions for masters and undergraduate HEI programmes via the network of academic researchers.
