Summary:

Are you new to Primary French? Are you involved in the delivery of French and would like to refresh your skills? Do you lack confidence or feel that you would like more ideas to use in the classroom? If so, this session could be for you! This active, hands-on session will combine a wide range of language and cultural activities targeted at building your confidence. It will provide practical and engaging ideas for delivering effective lessons and delegates will receive ready-made resources to take away and use with pupils.

The session is suitable for beginners, those with very little language and anyone who feels they are only just keeping one step ahead of pupils. Come and practise your language in a friendly, non-threatening environment, have some fun and take lots of resources away with you. Please see the flyer PDF icon for more information.

Primary Languages - Back in the Spotlight

Summary:

The event, organised in collaboration with EMILE at Nottingham City Council, aims to showcase local, regional and national talent in order to prepare and inspire delegates to face impending curriculum change. Delegates will be able to choose between a series of workshops focusing on practical activities and will leave with lots of ideas which can be used in the classroom.

Summary:

Network for Languages East Midlands is very pleased to host a dedicated Hanban teacher over 2012 / 13. Part of the Chinese Ministry of Education, the Hanban programme promotes Chinese language and culture worldwide. Our Hanban teacher is able to offer tasters and language courses in Chinese language and culture for both pupils and teachers as well as support for cultural activities and events. To celebrate the Year of the Snake, Network for Languages is offering a FREE taster CPD event exploring Chinese language and culture.

Subject Knowledge Enhancement Course – Teaching Agency Funded

Summary:

Do you need to strengthen (or begin to teach) a second language?
Are you teaching French or Spanish and do not have any specialist training?
Has it been a while since you taught languages or a particular key stage?

SKE courses aim to strengthen and enhance your existing subject knowledge and expertise and help you to develop a better understanding of how your subject works. See our flyer for more detail.
