NOW: the basics

What is NOW?

On first logging into NOW you are given access to a number of features including personal calendars, timetables and messaging tools. News items can easily be located and other services are readily available including the following.

Welcome box: Access your personal information and profile.

General resources: Use online resources for your learning and teaching.

Library OneSearch: Discover and access print and online research resources.

Learning rooms: Access links to the modules that you are enrolled on or teach.

Events: Keep up-to-date with current and upcoming events.

To help familiarise yourself with this new environment, students can book a place on the NOW induction course whilst training and support is available for staff from the Technology Learning and Development team at the Centre for Professional Development (CPLD). Please book on training sessions offered by CPLD. For any queries related to NOW training, you can also email us.

A wide range of online and downloadable resources on e-learning tools, and specifically NOW, is available for staff from the NOW Community course. The NOW Community can be easily accessed from the Help and Support panel on your NOW homepage (you may need to scroll down the page to see this panel).
