Why NOW?

NOW is NTU’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Staff and students can use their university username and password to access NOW. Most modules taught at the university are represented in NOW and each user has their own list of modules that they are enrolled on.

NOW is used for many learning and teaching activities which can be used to enhance the teacher-student learning experience. NOW has lots of useful tools, such as:

• a content delivery area 
• an electronic assessment tool 
• eSubmission dropboxes 
• feedback mechanisms and discussion areas
• ability to post news items
• a means of structuring learning and teaching content for students
• wide media support, as well as ability to embed web2.0 teaching and learning tools.

NOW is also used as a useful administration tool for staff. It also provides staff with enhanced tools to help monitor their classes and students, whilst also enhancing their ability to provide meaningful feedback.
