eLearning Benchmarking
The University participated in Phase One of the Higher Education Academy (HEA)/Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) submission of an expression of interest during the autumn of 2005.
The purpose of the national exercise was to assess the level of maturity and take up of eLearning and supporting infrastructures across the higher education sector. The University has given a commitment to prioritise eLearning in its Strategic Plan of 2004-10. Participation in the benchmarking exercise offered us the opportunity to collect data and information to assess how far eLearning had become embedded at Nottingham Trent University.
Sustainability
An NTU broad-based benchmarking group, which consisted of representation from Schools and services, collaborated with the HEA and Academy consultant. This collaboration was in order to adapt existing benchmarking tools tailored to the University's information needs, whilst also ensuring that we obtained consistency and comparability of findings.
By identifying the progress on embedding eLearning, in relation to similar institutions, useful comparisons were made that yielded opportunities for collaboration and research.
