In October 2008, students on the first year fashion programme, in the School of Art and Design, were given a health and safety awareness presentation on safe working practices. They are currently being encouraged to participate in a quiz in order to reinforce the points raised in this presentation. Prizes will be awarded to the first three correct entries selected.
Working with the School of Art and Design, it was decided that the assessment tool within NOW was the best way in which to host this quiz. This is because students are not only given the chance to test their knowledge of health and safety, but they are also given the flexibility to take the quiz at a time which suits them. They are also able to receive helpful feedback via this innovative assessment tool. In addition, a resource has been created which can be re-used and adapted within the School.
