Dave Ratchford
Equality and Diversity Manager
Responsibilities: Dave leads the Equality and Diversity Team in the development and implementation of policies, strategies and programmes aimed at progressing equality and dignity at NTU.
Previous experience: Formerly a Civil Servant, Dave worked as an elected, then employed Negotiator for the Civil Service Trade Union for over a decade. In this role he dealt with pay, terms and conditions and equality policies for over two dozen public, private and voluntary sector bodies. Additionally, he undertook a 12-month secondment as Employment Officer at the Nottingham Racial Equality Council and is a nationally accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator. He is currently in the final year of an MSc in Conflict Resolution and Mediation Studies at Birkbeck College, University of London.

Angie Pears
Deputy Equality and Diversity Manager
Responsibilities: Angie manages the programmes of learning and development for equality and dignity and equality impact assessments across the institution. She coaches and supports areas to progress best practice, statutory compliance or to respond to their particular needs, and coordinates and develops the in-house networks of investigators, mediators and harassment advisers.
Previous experience: Angie joins us after a decade as a Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University. In 1993, she was awarded her British Academy sponsored PhD in the field of Gender and Theology by Nottingham University. Following this, she held the post of Project and Training Manager with a retail design and production company before entering academia in 1996. In 2004, Ashgate Published her book, Feminist Christian Encounters. Her latest book, Doing Contextual Theology (2009), is published by Routledge. Angie is also an accredited Workplace Mediator and trained Investigator.

Charlotte Kingsbury
Diverse Communities Engagement and Projects Officer
Responsibilities: In her role, Charlotte supports the University in its need to engage with its staff, students and external stakeholders. Using a wide variety of flexible and fluid solutions to this, she also delivers discrete projects with both academic and professional teams, supporting their equality objectives.
Previous experience: Charlotte obtained a first class honours degree in the School of Arts and Humanities in her BA Communication Studies (2005), being awarded the Vice Chancellor's Prize for outstanding achievement and the Social Theory Prize for academic excellence. Charlotte also has a Masters in Critical Theory. She has a range of experience working with local community and voluntary organisations including international disaster relief fund-raising music festival Drop in the Ocean, The Big Grin arts festival, Pagan Pride family festival and award-winning Nottingham culture magazine LeftLion.

Susanna Dermody
Learning and Development Adviser
Responsibilities: Susanna's role is to engage and liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation providing general, bespoke and online learning experiences to build organisational capability in equality, diversity and dignity.
Previous experience: A qualified Learning and Development professional with over 25 years’ experience gained across public and private sector organisations Susanna specialisms include Equality and Diversity. She has supported delivery of government employability contracts for disabled and disadvantaged people, and more recently worked for Nottinghamshire Police as a Diversity Training Officer, developing capability of both police operational and support staff through training, implementing National Occupational Standards for diversity, coaching diversity champions and working with community groups to deliver community engagement workshops.

Cathy Marshall
Equality and Diversity Data Officer
Responsibilities: Cathy analyses data from diverse sources to interpret equality issues and then presents her findings to stakeholders across the institution.
Previous experience: Cathy graduated with a BSc Honours in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne before taking a post at New College Nottingham working for the Social Inclusion team. She has been with NTU in the Equality and Diversity Team since 2005.

Administrative Assistant
Responsibilities: The Assistant's role is to support the work of the Equality and Diversity team, working in particular with the Learning and Development Adviser supporting training events. She also supports the work of the Health and Safety team in a similar capacity.
