It can often be helpful for people with disabilities, or those involved in supporting them, to gain advice and information from specialist organisations. Listed below are a selection of organisations specialising in supporting a range of disabilities.

RNIB is the UK's leading charity offering information, support and advice to over two million people with sight loss.

NRSB is a local charity, providing services that empower service users to achieve independence within the community.

RNID offers free confidential and impartial information on a range of subjects including employment, equipment, legislation, benefits and many issues relating to deafness and hearing loss. Information and fact sheets are also available to download from this website.

NDS provides positive and empowering services and opportunities responding to the needs of the local Deaf Community. In addition to services provided to the deaf community NDS also provide a range of training courses and interpreter services.

The Dyslexia Association is a registered charity based in Nottingham and serving the East Midlands. They offer information and advice, screening, assessment, one to one tuition and other courses.

BDA provides a support network, helpline, computer advice service, publications, training, conferences and exhibitions.

Is the leading mental health charity for England and Wales and offers a range of services including, an information line, award winning publications and training and consultancy services for employers.
