Harassment Adviser Service
The University is opposed to harassment/bullying in all its forms and will not tolerate it of others on the basis of their age, disability, gender reassignment, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief or for any other reason. That is why the University has launched a new Dignity at Work Policy and Procedure for staff and continues to support students via the Policy and Procedure for Eliminating Harassment and Bullying.
The Harassment Adviser Service is a service available via both of these procedures and is provided to both staff and students at NTU. Harassment Advisers are members of staff from across the University who have been given specialist training in providing support, information and an impartial listening service to both staff and students who feel they may be experiencing harassment and/or bullying, and also to people responding to harassment and/or bullying complaints.
Harassment Advisers provide a confidential, informal and timely source of information and support on harassment and/or bullying issues, which will enable staff and students to discuss and select appropriate solutions to complaints, in accordance with University policies and procedures. They are able to:
- Listen effectively and fully explore the issues involved in your concern.
- Provide full, clear and accurate information on the relevant University policies and procedures for addressing your concern.
- Assist in ensuring that you are aware of the relevant informal and formal options open to you and the key practicalities involved in progressing each course of action.
- Provide information about further sources of help and support available and, where requested by you, make onward referrals.
To make an appointment to talk to one of the Harassment Advisers, or to obtain further information, please email the Harassment Adviser Service or telephone +44 (0)115 848 6176.
