Sustainability

For the purposes of the Future Factory project, sustainability is defined as:

A condition of existence which enables the present generation of humans … to enjoy social well-being, a vibrant economy, and a healthy environment, and to experience fulfillment, beauty and joy, without compromising the ability of future generations of humans and other species to enjoy the same.

(Dauncey 2009)

Collaborative projects with the Future Factory

We can work with your business or organisation to provide support in one of two ways:

  • Sustainable design projects
Projects that support the development of new and sustainable products, commercialisation of sustainable products, and research to inform the technical or market requirements of such products, their use or after-life, where the products meet the definition of sustainability above.
  • Sustainable process innovations
Projects that support the embeddedness of sustainable practice within organisations, through the implementation of internal or supply chain process changes, strategic development or value shift, and communication of the sustainable values to stakeholder groups.
