Important Information
Points to consider when choosing your accommodation:
- Demand is high, so you will only be able to choose one place in NTU residences.
- If you're holding an unconditional offer to study at NTU, the accommodation offer will only be valid for 48 hours from the date it is booked, after which time it will be withdrawn if it is not fully completed which includes paying your booking fee, accepting the terms and conditions and setting up your payment plan.
- It is important that you regularly read your email, as we are likely to contact you by email during the summer regarding your accommodation booking. Don't forget to check your junk inbox in case it has dropped in there.
- University accommodation is of a high standard and demand is great, but please bear in mind it is also likely to be noisier than home.
- All University residence agreements are for a fixed period.
- You can use our residence cross-comparison table to help you select your residence.
- Please ensure that you print off and read through the University Licence Agreement
and the cancellation copy below.
Please also read the handbook for your residence:
- University Partnerships Programme (UPP)
- University-owned and University-managed for City and Clifton
- Brackenhurst Accommodation.
In order to book your accommodation, you will need to:
- Have accepted a place on a course here and NTU will need to be your first choice of university.
- Pay a non-refundable £200 booking fee at the time of booking any residence. This fee will become a deposit returnable at the end of the agreement, subject to an accommodation inspection.
- Read through and agree to the terms and conditions of the residency and the cancellation policy.
- Set up payment arrangements for the residence fees.
Payment methods
Payment is made online at the time of booking your room by credit/debit card. Residence fees are also payable online by credit or debit card or by direct debit in three instalments. To book online you will need to have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer of a place and have received your NTU ID number. (Payment dates will be provided at the time of booking.)

Cancellation
As the booking of your accommodation is made online, the booking is subject to the Distance Selling Regulations which include a right to cancellation. The cancellation options in this section exceed the minimum required by the Distance Selling Regulations.
Cancellation Policy – New Students
By proceeding with your accommodation booking and accepting these terms and conditions, you are entering into a legally binding agreement and will be liable for payment of the specified rent for the full term of the licence period. However, the Licensor will permit you to cancel this Licence Agreement, without being liable for payment of any rent, provided that:
a) you do not take up the study place offered at the University; and
b) you notify Student Accommodation Services directly, by e-mail, no later than 21 days prior to the commencement of the Licence Period that you will not be studying at the University.
After the specified deadline this “no-penalty cancellation” option will not be available, and you will be legally bound by the terms and conditions of this Licence Agreement.
Cancellation Policy – Returning Students
By proceeding with your accommodation booking and accepting these terms and conditions, you are entering into a legally binding agreement and will be liable for the payment of the specified rent for the full term of the licence period. However, the Licensor will permit you to cancel this Licence Agreement without being liable for payment of any rent, provided that you notify Student Accommodation Services directly by email that you wish to cancel your accommodation booking and that this notification is received by Student Accommodation Services by the sooner of:
a) 28 days after the acceptance of the Terms and Conditions set out in this Licence Agreement; or
b) 21 days before the start of the Licence Period.
After the specified deadline this time-limited "no penalty" cancellation option will not be available and you will be legally bound by the terms and conditions of this Licence Agreement.
Please be aware that once you have accepted and completed your accommodation booking you will be held liable for the rent for the full duration of the contract period (44 weeks or 51 weeks). Even if you leave accommodation or indeed the University early you will remain liable for the rent unless you find a suitable student replacement for your room.
Think carefully about whether student communal living is for you before accepting the terms and conditions. Bear in mind that University accommodation is likely to be noisier than home.
If you have any doubts please contact Student Accommodation Services who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
