What is included?

You can expect the following from NTU residences.

Kitchen facilities
You don't need to worry about kitchen appliances, as all University accommodation is stocked with cookers, microwaves, fridge freezers, storage facilities, a kettle, a toaster, iron and ironing board. All you need to bring are your pots, pans, utensils, etc. It really is a home from home.

Items of kitchenware such as pots and pans, plates, mugs, cutlery and crockery will be available for free on a first come first served basis at this year's Fresher’s Fairs as part of NTU's Big Clear Out. For further information, please contact the Environment Team or visit Ecoweb.

Stuff for your room
Your bedroom will be furnished with standard bedroom furniture:

• a single bed
• wardrobe
• desk or work surface.

We would advise that you bring your own bed linen (duvet, duvet covers, sheets, pillows, etc.), although you can buy bed packs when you get here from £30 each.

No bill worries
Another benefit of living in a University allocated residence is that your room will be centrally heated and you'll have a constant supply of hot water, as heating and lighting are included in your rent. For students living in the private sector, these are an extra cost to consider. Some residences have an internet connection charge which is payable upon arrival at your room. In some residences you will also get basic contents insurance cover.

Special requirements
If you have a disability or special need, that is relevant to your accommodation, please contact the University's Student Services in the first instance and then Student Accommodation Services directly. We will then work with the Student Support Services team to find you the best room for your requirements.

A safe environment
Your security, safety and general wellbeing are of the utmost importance to the University. That's why you'll find that most accommodation is protected by CCTV cameras, electronic entry systems, intercoms and / or security staff.

Parking
At some residences limited parking is available but you will require a permit which is available from the Residence Manager. Look out for the special parking icon.
