Nottingham is a city packed with top-notch sporting events and facilities including; two Football League clubs, a major county cricket club, an Elite League ice hockey team and a Championship rugby union team. We also have the best facilities in the country for ice skating and water sports on our doorstep.

Meadow Lane is the home to Notts County FC football club. Founded in 1862, they are officially the oldest football league club in the world. The ground also hosts games for Nottingham Rugby Club.

You can try out a variety of watersports at Holme Pierrepont, but be warned that some of them can be challenging.

NTU’s football team also play the varsity matches against Nottingham University at Meadow Lane, which is a big event in the student calendar.

Just across the River Trent, Nottingham Forest FC play their football in the English Championship. But they are known across the world as two-time winners of the European Cup.

In the city centre stands a statue paying tribute to legendary former Nottingham Forest manager Brian Clough.

Trent Bridge is the home of Notts County Cricket Club and hosts a variety of top class games, including county championship, twenty20 and international cricket.

The National Ice Arena is the home of Elite League ice hockey team The Nottingham Panthers, as well as holding national ice events.

NTU’s student ice hockey team also play games at the National Ice Stadium, which is always a great occasion.

A few doors down from the Ice Arena is one of Nottingham’s many bowling alleys, where you and friends can enjoy a game chasing strikes and spares.

Holme Pierrepont is the National Watersports Centre and one of only five national sports centres across the UK.
