What's your sport?

Sport and fitness play a large part in life at NTU. An active and healthy lifestyle can make your time at University an unforgettable experience and also help with your studies.

We aim to make sure sport and fitness is accessible to all with great facilities and plenty of opportunities to get involved, whatever your interests and abilities.

Great value membership
Our Sport and Fitness Membership Scheme offers fantastic value to all our students. Sign up and you'll get access to all our facilities including gyms, unlimited exercise classes and the option to join any of our sports clubs.

Excellent facilities
You'll have access to some excellent sporting facilities and the latest fitness technology. Our fitness suites are kitted out with top-of-the-range equipment to give you the complete work-out and our friendly staff are always available to help you get the most out of our facilities.

The Lee Westwood Sports Centre opened in 2010 and forms the sporting hub of the University with:

  • sports halls
  • squash courts
  • a fitness suite
  • a dance studio
  • a strength and conditioning suite.

There are also a number of grass and artificial pitches for outdoor sports.

At the City site there's a fitness suite and dance studio, with a full range of exercise classes. At Brackenhurst campus we have an equestrian centre and outdoor sports pitches.

Get involved
We have 50 sports clubs to suit any interest. Lots of our clubs welcome all abilities giving you chance to be the best in your favourite sport, or try something for the first time. Many clubs compete against other universities in the BUCS leagues and competitions, so you can test yourself against the best student teams in the country. We finished 21st in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Championship league last year.

Our NTU football and netball leagues give you chance to get some friends together and take on other teams from around the University

For the serious athlete, our elite sport set up provides support to help you excel in your chosen sport and your studies.
