Your Students' Union is at the centre of student life at NTU. We can offer you around 120 sports clubs and societies, live music events, excellent nightlife, employment opportunities, specialist training, an advice shop and more. We'll have something for you, whatever you're into.
New Students' Union building for the City site – Coming in 2013
A new Students' Union building on the City site will open in 2013 giving you an exceptional array of social, leisure and well-being facilities. The new building will also include 900 student rooms. Facilities will include a sports hall, entertainment area, fitness studio, shop, bars, social space - with a feature 20 ft climbing wall - and health centre.
It's going to be one of the best Student Union buildings in the country.

Join a society
There are over 70 societies available at NTU and the number is growing all the time. Societies are a great way to meet new friends with similar interests, learn something new and get involved with the social scene. From debating to drama and from rock music to Russian, you'll find your society of like minds. We also offer a range of music societies, evenings and groups for you to get involved in.
Get active
We offer over 50 team and individual sports activities ranging from participation for pure enjoyment, within the Superleague and No Excuses recreational sporting programmes, up to the elite athletes competing for BUCS. Get competitive, active and motivated with the perfect complement to your studies.
Gain skills and funds with Jobshop
We know how important it is to fund your studies and gain skills to make you stand out in the employment market. That's why your Students' Union Jobshop offers part-time, term-time, graduate, University, vacation and voluntary posts. Gain funds and employable skills.
Want to be a journalist or presenter?
Meet your favourite artist and write reviews for the Students' Union Radio Station Fly FM and / or get involved with the monthly newspaper, Platform. Both are great when looking to enhance your confidence, creativity, communication skills and CV.

Develop your personal and employable skills
Sign up for the NTSU Skills Award and gain employable and personal skills through training sessions and online modules. You can attend as many or as few sessions as you wish! We can help you to develop the budgeting skills you need in your first year right through to careers advice in your third year. Get the skills you need to make the best of your university life and stand out from the crowd.
