Travelling to the Clifton campus

By car

Parking will be available on campus for all visitors.

Clifton campus is situated around four miles South-West of Nottingham city centre on the A453, Clifton Lane.

Please note, NTU also has a City site and you will pick up signage for that if you come through the city. You will need to head for the M1 south, Birmingham, East Midlands Airport on the A453 for Clifton.

From the North, South or West

Exit the M1 at Junction 24 and follow the A453 towards Nottingham. Clifton campus is on the left-hand side approximately seven miles from the motorway.

From the East

Follow the A52 signs to Nottingham and then join the A453, sign posted M1 South. Follow the A453 and the Clifton campus entrance will be on your right-hand side after the first set of traffic lights. Please be aware that roadworks on the A52 at Saxondale may delay your journey.

By rail

Nottingham Midland Rail Station is located approximately five miles from Clifton campus. Timetable information is available at National Rail Enquiries. A taxi from the train station to the campus will cost around £10. However, a much better value-for-money method is to get the Unilink bus Service which travels every 7 minutes between both sites.

You can catch the UniLink bus just outside the railway station, on Carrington Street, near the Gresham Hotel. It is bus stop number S2. This bus is the only bendy bus service in Nottingham and proudly carries the NTU logo and name. It costs £1.70 for a single journey or £3.40 for an all-day bus pass. The UniLink service begins at 7.30 am and finishes at 9.15 pm during term-time.

By coach

When you arrive at the Broadmarsh Bus Station, make your way to the railway station where you can pick up the UniLink bus service. Please see By rail for further details.
