Inspired in Nottingham
Inspired in Nottingham is a new programme designed by the city's four universities and Further Education Colleges as part of the City Deal to create opportunities for our students aged under 35 years old to set up their own businesses.
Background
Announced in 2012, the Government-backed £60m City Deal is designed to create opportunities for business growth in Nottingham.
The City Deal includes the Generation Y (GenY) programme, targeted at those aged between 16 and 35. The programme will provide advice, support and training to give people the confidence and ability to start their own business. It will also provide a route to investment funds, loans or grants.
Inspired in Nottingham
A key element of GenY is Inspired in Nottingham, which is designed to create opportunities for our students and graduates aged under 35 years old to set up businesses and encourage graduates to stay in Nottingham after their studies.
Inspired in Nottingham brings together Nottingham Trent University, The University of Nottingham, New College Nottingham and Central College Nottingham. These four organisations will work in partnership with our students and local businesses to nurture and develop their early stage business ideas - to inspire young people to start their own businesses and help grow the city's economy.
The Inspired in Nottingham team will match the needs of our young entrepreneurs with relevant local businesses that have the necessary skills and experience. They may also cover a level of funding and out of pocket expenses of both the student and the business.
Inspired @ NTU
At Nottingham Trent University, we are supporting Inspired in Nottingham through The Hive, our purpose-built Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise.
